The shortage of school supplies in Dominican classrooms has always been an area of prime concern for ProJecto.  Budget shortfalls have a crippling effect on a public education system, even in wealthy nations such as the United States, where frustrated teachers often buy supplies and pay for them out of their own pockets. But in a poor country like the Dominican Republic, even that is not an option.  So we began our summer 2014 journey to the Dominican north coast by visiting four schools in dire need of basic supplies.  At Ramon Antonio Polanco, Centro Educativo, Yolanda Almanzar and Jababa al Medio Schools, pencils and notebooks are hard to obtain.  Back packs, shoes and uniforms are simply a luxury.  Thanks to you, our benefactors, we’re able to help these little angels of the Lord.
